RAINED OFF (06/10/09)

Untitled-1_edited-1          CJ at Rambles from my Chair posted a very clever bit of art work. If it was done as I did this then it's creator must have been rained off for a week. This third rate work took an hour, a happy hour. Thanks for the inspiration and for helping me avoid laundry, cleaning and unblocking the sink.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA                  Moon Rising over the guest house at the end of the site. I went out to catch the last of the suns rays on Snowden, it was not to be, but noticed this on the way home.

The rest of this blog will have to be some quick Photoshop fun, passes the time and it's amazing what one finds in there.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA           WAVE........Created using two distort filters Spherize and Twirl then dodged/burned. What I fancifully call a wave was then selected and gaussian blur applied to the remainder.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA FULL MOON, REALLY FULL.

I think I may have got the moon a touch large? This is a sky swop and then the light painted in overlay. Dodged/Burned. All far too exaggerated but if I was going for realism it's easy to reduce the moon size as it's on a separate layer, as are the adjustments so opacity can be reduced. Both images shot yesterday.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA GROTTO

More than enough messing for one day. Forecast good for tomorrow so off to the Menai Straits. Well I will be if the ark is finished.

  1. Oh, I like the too big moon, it gives a sense of other-world-iness to the photo.

Like a story, you could row a little boat on the moonlight, and reach out and touch the moon!

  4. Keith that's both the beauty and the downfall of Photoshop, you can have a little moon or a big one. I just need to learn restraint. The rain here has to be seen to be believed expecting fish and frogs any time soon.
