ANOTHER WET DAY. (14/04/15)

It is not fit to put a dog out so I have been playing indoors again._V0G7979

_V0G7980    I went looking for another of what I found yesterday but all I could find were these by the dozen. I think they are Snake millipedes; Tachypodoiulus niger. I’m not sure as it’s bum looks a bit pointed. At least it has all it’s legs and is the right way up.

After breakfast I found my first snail of the year.

_V0G7967    Garden snail; Helix aspersa. I think I have got the lighting as good as I can. I ought to have given it’s shell a polish but didn’t notice until I started editing then I couldn’t find it again. I think snails look good on the mirror though they do make a hell of a mess.

Tomorrow is forecast to be fine and reasonably sunny. I am going to spring clean the van so may or may not post.

Have fun.

  2. What cracking shots those snails are. Stunning. Sorry about the rain but at least you are busy playing.

    1. Margaret, I think they turned out well. I did some about a year ago but this is the first time I've used the first surface mirror for them.

  4. Spring clean the van? Don't forget to wear your floral pinafore and try to remember where you stored your pink feather duster!...Amazing snail pictures! The mirror idea works brilliantly. Other snails will be jealous that Brian is now a blogging star.

    1. YP, it's the curlers and marigolds I'm looking forward to wearing.
I did Brian about a year ago on a normal mirror and since getting these old Autocue mirrors forgot about snails. I have got the flash working better now.

  5. It was a drizzly wet day here too and I think tomorrow is forecast for the same. There are sure a lot of legs on that multi-pede. And the snail looks spectacular. I reckon you could do a whole snail calendar and sell it online to fund your travels. People would buy it! Well I would.

    1. Carol, it makes up for the lack of legs on yesterdays.
I would have to commit to thousands of calendars. I suspect that few use them or diaries now most folk have smart phones. I will do a series of them and maybe try small frogs and toads.

  7. I wonder if the snail ever saw its mirror reflection before. (Just to say something not already said.)

    1. Douglas, I will think about getting one for print, I think they would look okay at a couple of feet square. For once even I am happy with these.

    1. John, a rinse with warm water and a wipe with an anti-static cloth and the mirror is ready to go again.
