MIXED FORTUNES (06/11/09)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     IT RAINED

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     IT WAS SUNNY

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    IT WAS HALF AND HALF

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   IT RAINED SOME MORE

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  A VERY MIXED UP DAY

We had a good day out on the river despite the weather. Very few birds about and what there were were miles away. It will come as no surprise to regular readers that the promised pictures of our feathered friends have once again failed to materialize.

A buzzard came along but the rook chased it away.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn Egret even further away.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     And another rainbow to round of a wet, windy and chilly day.

  1. "and it rained some more" is a beautiful, beautiful photo. I always love what you capture, but that shot is special. I love how you chase the birds! (My sense of humour at work - Will Adrian ever capture a bird to his satisfaction?)

  2. Hi Adrian Well the plus side is you and Molly enjoyed yourself. The photographs capture well how changable the elements have been lately..we are experiencing the same conditions down in the South West
I feel you are going to end up with a very special photographic bird shot before you finish the trip.

  3. I'm jealous - the only Egrets I have see were too far away even to be blobs on the picture. I'm also jelaous that you had some sunshine - we've just had rain between the showers.

(I think it's a Raven chasing the Buzzard - looks too big for a Rook and has the broad wingtips of a Raven).

  4. You do seem to have some sort of magnetic attraction to rain, Adrian.
    Lovely rainbow shots.

  5. Hi, Adrian, hope you don't mind me popping in.
You are very brave taking photos in the rain but the results were spectacular.

  7. Despite what the weather throws at you Adrian, and it does seem like rain by the bucket load just lately, you always come up with some excellent pictures.

I’m inclined to agree with Trevor; 'I feel you are going to end up with a very special photographic bird shot before you finish the trip.'

    Most definitely mate!

  8. Thanks all,
Pauline will get some one day.
Trevor, you have more faith than I.
John, hope it's a Raven, rarer than a Rook.
Valerie, welcome the more the merrier. Camera is waterproof.
Ta Keith may end up asking to borrow yours.
