NOT THERE YET (15/11/10)

We spent the weekend back at Greta Bridge. I’ve come to the conclusion that my long lens is overdue a rebuild. It has been dropped twice so perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised………….I am though………….Price they are they should be blast proof.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Here is the Wren, still way out of focus but better than last weeks effort………….Not there yet by a long chalk. There was also a Goldcrest………..Cause I didn’t……. faster than the Wren is the Goldcrest and smaller.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  A tree full of Fieldfare. I did manage a slightly closer shot…………….

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  Even if the quality is no better.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    Grey Lag Geese, again I doubt the image is good enough for me to be contradicted.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA    The Lapwing were back…..it is a pity I can’t get closer…….not for the birds of course.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     Two pheasant having a tiff. So fascinated was I that I almost forgot the picture.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA     A fine crop of Shaggy Scale Cap around the base of a White Poplar.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA      Reflections and Black Headed Gulls.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA       A cool start to the day but still well worth being out.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA       And after a couple of hours or so we beat the rain.

Not a very productive weekend but a very enjoyable one.

Have a good week the weather is looking good so am back off to try for some proper shots of the bridge at Stockton.

  1. You got some good birds there Adrian.
Always fascinating watching two cock pheasants having a row.

  2. Tut tut Adrian. You should take more water with your 'medication' then you wouldn't drop things so often ;)

  3. I am always fascinated by pheasants and this picture interested me greatly as I've never seen too males invading personal spaces before. I like the last one with the shadows and repetition improved funnily enough without the roof I think.

  4. Keith, the pheasant were really going at it, leaping in the air the works. Camera was on burst but I forgot to use it. The birds were good which is more than can be said for the pictures.

John, I know! Once Ileft the strap hanging from the table and the dog caught it the second big crash was when the tripod blew over. I was hanging my bag from it for stability at the time.

Jay, both grouse and pheasant put on a good show when annoyed. The old byre is about to get a new roof but it looked good with the early sun catching it. A bit over processed but I still have the RAW file so no worries.

  6. Wind, I love being out at dawn or dusk watching birds. Yours are going to feed and coming back to sleep. I find Ducks go first, then geese then gulls. Always a noisy business.
