THEORY INTO PRACTISE (22/04/11)

Well now to see if there is any improvement. Mostly birds taken from Wednesday afternoon until Friday morning. We are at the Tan Hill Inn.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA       I’ll start with this blossom it doesn’t hop about. I’ll go for Cherry Blossom but all alternative suggestions gratefully received.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA         Canada Geese………….they pose nicely and don’t flit about.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA          Neither do Greylags. Okay so far.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Pied wagtail is smaller and more inclined to hop away.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA        The Tree Creeper moves a little faster.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA           There are no half measures with the Dipper he is either there or not.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA             I am up to date now this Mallard cross shared my toast this morning then we went out and with great excitement found a pair of these…………………………………………………

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA                                  What I hope are Wheatears. Grand little things and they move about a lot.

That’s all for today…………..I’ll get around to some serious catching up with all your posts.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend. All images will enlarge with a click.

  1. Don't know what blossom it is, but the light is catching it rather well.
I see you got the Dipper :)
The Mallard eating the toast, is a cracking shot Adrian, and I'm so envious of the Wheatears. Lovely shots of them.

  3. Definite improvement Adrian! I've always found bird photography really hard. Super glue on perches might work!!!

  4. The best ever! Each one looks superb, and such a variety. Love the reflective shots...so clear, great lighting... and the duck just quacks me up. (Sorry). ;)

  6. Keith, I was excited when i found the Wheatears...Golden plover and Meadow Pipit are next on the list up here.

Hilary, they are tame so easy. They try to get in the camper which gets a little trying.

George, a taxidermist would also help.

    Horst, many thanks.

Glo, I can never get enough reflections I love them.....two shots for the price of one.

John, thanks, praise indeed coming from you.

  7. I'm envious of the Tree Creeper. I've never seen one. On the other hand I have Wheatears by the score in my Eagleton garden but your's are really cracking shots. Most of mine are on fences or posts or grass ie really boring backgrounds.
